Looking for a Peugeot RCZ salvage car?

The RCZ was the surprise in the Peugeot range: a coupé with a double-bubble roof and two aluminium arches over it, built from 2010 to 2015. There are not many left on the road, so we bring the listings together here. Everything our affiliated car dealers, traders and dismantling companies in the Netherlands and abroad have on offer is on this page. Filter by year of manufacture, engine option or type of damage and contact the seller yourself.

Which Peugeot RCZ salvage cars can you come across on our platform?

What you see here comes from what our partners buy in and changes daily. Peugeot built the RCZ in limited numbers over five years, with three engines and one special top version. That overview is helpful: the differences are easy to take in and immediately determine what a salvage car is worth.

Peugeot RCZ 1.6 THP with 156 and 200 hp

The lion’s share of RCZs have the 1.6 THP, a four-cylinder turbo engine that Peugeot developed together with BMW. In the entry-level version it delivers 156 hp, in the GT trim 200 hp, usually paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

With this engine, the timing chain and oil consumption are the known points to watch. Ask for the service invoices and find out when the chain was last checked.

Also check whether a recent oil pressure test has been done. An engine that ticks at low revs is a clear warning sign on this unit.

Peugeot RCZ 2.0 HDi with 163 hp

Those who covered a lot of kilometres chose the diesel: a 2.0 HDi with 163 hp. It is less sporty in character but a good deal more economical, and in practice a good deal easier to maintain than the turbo petrol.

With this version, look at the particulate filter and the injectors, especially if the car has mostly done short journeys. Those are the items that can still make a cheap RCZ expensive.

It was sold in relatively small numbers, so you come across it less often among the damaged cars on offer than the petrol versions.

Peugeot RCZ R with 270 hp

In 2014 came the RCZ R, with a tuned 1.6 THP of 270 hp, a limited-slip differential and a lowered chassis with larger brakes. Peugeot built very few of them, which has made it a sought-after car.

If you spot one in the listings, look beyond the badges. The VIN and the type approval tell you whether it is a genuine R; the difference in value from an ordinary GT is considerable.

On the R, also look at the brakes and the limited-slip differential. These parts are specific to this version and determine a large part of what the car is worth.

That made it the most powerful car Peugeot had ever built in series at the time, which explains why enthusiasts are still after one.

Filter our listings of Peugeot RCZ salvage cars

A static stock list would not work for these listings. So you specify yourself what your Peugeot RCZ salvage car must meet:

  • Year of manufacture and mileage
  • Engine option: 1.6 THP 156, 1.6 THP 200, 2.0 HDi or the RCZ R
  • Transmission: manual or automatic
  • Type of damage, from a damaged roof arch to a total loss
  • Asking price and the place where the coupé is located

Nothing to your liking today? With a car built in small numbers, patience comes with the territory. Save your search or this page and check back now and then.

What should you look out for with a damaged Peugeot RCZ?

With a coupé with quirky bodywork, the surprises are in different places from an ordinary hatchback. Four points make the difference here.

The roof and the aluminium arches

The two arches over the roof are made of aluminium and are the RCZ’s trademark. They are expensive, hard to straighten and no longer available new.

So always ask for detail photos of both arches and of where they join the roofline. A damaged arch can turn an otherwise tidy car into a difficult project.

Depending on the version, they are also finished either polished or painted, and when replacing one that difference cannot be got round.

The active rear spoiler and the rear window

At the rear is a spoiler that rises automatically at speed. Its mechanism is model-specific and vulnerable in rear-end damage. The same applies to the curved rear window. If you need these parts, you can get them from a salvage vehicle through our platform for a fraction of the new price.

Total loss does not mean irreparable

That designation is about a sum, not about the condition of the car: the insurer puts the repair at more than the market value at the time of the loss. With a coupé with model-specific parts, that threshold is reached even with manageable damage.

Assess for each car whether repair pays off or whether the value lies more in the individual parts: the engine, the gearbox, the interior or those rare roof arches.

Damage history, originality and export

Start with the VIN, because it lets you check both the damage history and the version. For the R version, also ask for documents that support its provenance.

Also check that there is no block on the car. With a complete file, re-registration or export to France, Germany or Belgium goes a good deal more smoothly.

Reliable dealers for a worry-free purchase

With a car that appeals to enthusiasts, you want to be sure who you are buying from. That is why our platform is open only to accredited dealers affiliated with organisations such as the Vereniging Schadevoertuighandel (VSV) and the Stichting Verzekeringsbureau Voertuigcriminaliteit (VbV). A large part of their stock comes directly from insurers.

Every Peugeot RCZ salvage car on our platform comes with clear photos and detailed specifications. That way you can see beforehand whether it stops at bodywork damage or whether there is more going on, for example to the roof or the drivetrain.

Want to know more? Ask the dealer for images of the roof arches and the rear window. On this coupé, those parts decide whether repair remains feasible.

Buying a Peugeot RCZ salvage car: good value and full transparency

You talk to the dealer yourself, with no go-between. That keeps the price sharp and the contact short. What is more, a damaged RCZ costs considerably less than a comparable one without damage. What else we offer you:

  • The complete stock of our affiliated companies, refreshed daily
  • Trim level, year of manufacture, type of damage and price side by side
  • A purchase you conclude yourself with the selling party
  • An open damage description with sharp photos for every coupé
  • Equally suitable for private and trade buyers

Who should consider a Peugeot RCZ salvage car?

From companies buying for repair or parts to private buyers wanting to start a project: the audience is small but committed. Do you recognise yourself in this?

Trade buyers

  • Traders who do up a damaged coupé and offer it for sale again
  • Dismantling companies that remove model-specific parts from the car
  • Bodywork specialists experienced with aluminium
  • Export companies with customers in France, Germany and Belgium
  • Traders in modern classics with a distinctive character

Private buyers

  • Buyers looking for a striking coupé for a small sum
  • DIY mechanics who want to tackle the bodywork themselves
  • RCZ owners who need a donor car for parts
  • Enthusiasts who want to build or preserve an RCZ R

Schadeautos.nl: your complete partner for repairing a Peugeot RCZ

With a car built in small numbers, searching for parts is the biggest challenge. That is why, alongside the coupé itself, you will also find Peugeot salvage cars and high-quality used car parts for this specific model.

That way the car and the parts come from the same companies. That saves a long search, especially for parts that were dropped from the brand dealer’s list long ago.

Buying in a professional capacity? Then from a single account you can keep the incoming listings and the available donor vehicles in view side by side.

New stock every day & expert service

“Every dealer in our network is selected in advance and continually adds their stock. That is why the listings on this page move along: if there is nothing here today, that may be different tomorrow. With a car that was built in such small numbers, the experience of our dealers is worth its weight in gold. They tell you what the damage does to the repair costs and to the residual value.”

Buying a Peugeot RCZ salvage car: smart for your budget and the environment

Repairing a damaged RCZ with used parts is good value and at the same time a conscious choice. Reusing an existing car takes much less material than building a new one.

With this model there is a practical argument too. Few have been built worldwide, so every car that serves as a donor keeps dozens of other RCZs on the road. A roof arch, a spoiler mechanism or an interior that is still good belongs in another coupé and not in the shredder. We are happy to play our part in that.

Frequently asked questions about Peugeot RCZ salvage cars

Is there always a Peugeot RCZ in your listings?

No, and that is down to the model itself. The RCZ was only built for five years and only a few thousand are still on the road in the Netherlands. Save your search or this page and check back regularly.

Can a damaged Peugeot RCZ still be repaired properly?

That depends mainly on where the impact is. Front bumper, wings and bonnet are doable, but damage to the roof or the aluminium arches makes the work complicated and expensive. So always ask for images of the top before you make an offer.

What does economic total loss mean for a Peugeot RCZ?

That the insurer puts the repair at more than the car’s current value. Because the market value of an RCZ is modest and the parts are scarce, that threshold is reached quickly. The verdict says nothing about the technology.

Are parts for the Peugeot RCZ easy to get hold of?

The engine, the transmission and much of the running gear come from the 308 of the same period, so supply there is fair. For the bodywork, the roof and the spoiler it is different; there, a salvage vehicle from our listings is usually the only thing that will get you quickly to the right part.

Can I export a Peugeot RCZ salvage car?

Yes, as long as the export papers and the damage file are complete. For France, Germany or Belgium you need the complete registration document. Check beforehand that the car has not been blocked.

Do you offer a warranty on a Peugeot RCZ salvage car?

No. We are the marketplace where supply and demand meet; the sale is made by our partner. You therefore agree any warranty terms with the dealer.
